Displaying relationships between Primary Process Groups on a Relationship Map diagram
A Process Decomposition diagram describes the logical groupings of Process Threads by Primary Process Group. If a Process Thread that is part of one Primary Process Group has a relationship to a Process Thread that is part of another Primary Process Group, then the Primary Process Groups are related. You can automatically chart relationships between Primary Process Groups on a Relationship Map diagram.
Process Threads are related when a Result from one Process Thread identifies a Primary Event from another.
Note Primary Process Groups are listed as Description under Definitions in the Browser and when selecting Choices from the floating menu on the diagram workspace.
To automatically chart relationships between Primary Process Groups on a Relationship Map diagram:
1 Create a new or open an existing Relationship Map diagram.
2 Place the Primary Process Group symbols you are interested in on the diagram workspace (you can right-click the diagram workspace and select Choices to get a list of Primary Process Groups in the current encyclopedia, or drag in Primary Process Groups from the browser). These symbols display as an External Symbol.
3 Right-click the External Symbol; then click Transform Symbol.
4 In the Transform Symbol dialog box, in the list select Primary Process Group as the designated symbol.
5 Select the Primary Process Group symbols on the diagram to chart relationships between; then click Dictionary > Balance Relationship Map.
