Creating OV-6a decomposition diagrams
When performing process modeling in OV-6a, you will frequently decompose Units of Behavior (operational activities) on a diagram by creating a child OV-6a diagram for the operational activity. On this child diagram you model the process flow details of the parent operational activity.
To create an OV-6a child diagram
1 Select an Operational Activity symbol on an OV-6a diagram and either right‑click the symbol and select Child Create, or select Edit, Child Diagram, Create from the menu.
Note By default Swimlanes will appear on the child diagram. You can remove the Swimlanes by accessing the Diagram Properties and selecting none on the Swimlanes tab.
Shadow on Operational Activity Denotes Decomposition:
When you create a child diagram for a Operational Activity, System Architect will automatically put a shadow underneath the Operational Activity.
