Creating SV-4 functional decomposition diagrams
A Functional Decomposition Diagram enables you to view your system functions in an hierarchical structure. This diagram can be used as an alternative or in conjunction with the SV-4 System Functionality Data Flow. This diagram is similar to a node tree or functional hierarchy diagram.
To create a Functional Decomposition Diagram:
1 Select File, New Diagram or select Diagrams in the All Methods tab in the explorer, right-click it, and select New.
The Select new type for All Methods dialog appears.
2 Scroll down and double‑click SV-4 Functional Decomposition.
The New Diagram dialog appears.
3 Enter a name and click OK. Draw your diagram. If you previously created an SV-4 Systems Functionality diagram, you can right-click the diagram white space, and then click Choices; this enables you to drag and drop the system functions that have already been defined.
4 Click File > Save Diagram to save the diagram.
