The P4 – Resource Functions: Decomposition viewpoint of NAF v4 enables you to model the decomposition of Functions and their sub-Functions in a tree. This viewpoint derives from the NOV-5a Node Tree diagram of NAF v3.

In System Architect, you connect a Function to its parent by moving it underneath its parent until an autoconnection is established – the definitions are updated and the relationship line is automatically drawn.
