In NAF 4 and UAF, Asset is an abstract type that is equivalent of generic Resource in DoDAF 2. Asset is not intended to be modeled – however, it is available as a definition type in the NAF v4 and UAF support so that users mapping their DoDAF 2 architecture to NAF or UAF can maintain the generic Resources they modeled.
Asset has the following subtypes (which all have inherit the same properties and behavior (relationships that can be drawn to/from them):
Asset – abstract grouping type, available to be modeled to catch “Resource” from DoDAF 2 models
Performer – abstract grouping type, available to be modeled to catch “Performer” from DoDAF 2 models
OperationalAgent – abstract grouping type not available to be modeled
OperationalPerformer
