When the Symbol Grid option is toggled on, the center of each rectangular symbol is used to place it on the grid.

The information is provided on both unit measure per grid point and grid points per unit measure. For both the vertical and horizontal dimensions, you can change either value and the effect on the other is displayed. The placement of rectangular symbols on a chosen grid and placement of line symbols on a chosen grid can be controlled separately.

Measurement is in inches or centimeters, depending on the Windows International command in the Windows Control Panel.
