Rekey, merge/extract
Whenever you have made changes to line symbols in a previously extracted/merged encyclopedia it is recommended that you extract/merge again and build a new list file in order for your changes to place in the target encyclopedia. This allows you to establish the connection by rekeying the information without duplicating the line symbol. After you have made a subsequent extraction of the same data the following dialog appears:
This graphic is described in the surrounding text.
Details
Provides you with a report of the changes that will be made.
Rekey
Takes the changes that you made from the source encyclopedia and place them into the target encyclopedia.
For example in the source encyclopedia you have symbol A attached to symbol B. Then you decided to move the end symbol from B and attach it to symbol C. After using the Rekey button you will now have both A and C symbols keyed (attached) together in the target encyclopedia.
Go
Attaches the line symbols, but will not remove the original keyed line symbol. You will have all symbols connected. It does not recognize that the symbols have been moved. Use the Rekey button to establish the new connection.
Cancel
Aborts the merge/extraction.
The Rekey dialog also appears after extracting the same data if you have:
Renamed a definition/symbol
Moved a Class or Use Case symbol from one Package to another.
Note The Rekey option can be used on the following line symbols: Relation, Constraint, Association, Is Subclass, Is Instance Of, Object link, Realizes, Extends, Includes, Use Case Generalization and Use Case Association.
