You draw Perspectives on the Strategy Map diagram. Then, specify properties to define the Perspective.

Values include Financial, Customer, Internal Process, or Employees.

You can specify the order of the perspective (for example, First, Second, Third, or Fourth) for reporting purposes. For example, as mentioned above, Kaplan & Norton say that the Financial perspective is typically first for commercial companies, with the Customer perspective second, while for nonprofit organizations this order is reversed. The value that you place in this property will not change the ordering of the perspectives on the Strategy Map diagram. This allows you the flexibility of drawing the diagram independently of the specified sort order of the perspective.

You can specify the Business Objectives contained in the Perspective. This should correlate with the Business Objectives that you have drawn on the Perspective swimlane on the diagram. It is up to you to make sure that the Business Objectives drawn on the diagram match the ones that you specify in the list within the Perspective definition. System Architect does not mandate that the two match although you can create and run a report to find discrepancies.
