Maintaining the hierarchy between ELH nodes and ELH entities
When you add nodes and entities to an ELH diagram, for example, ELH node to the ELH entity, node to node, or event to node, the modeling software maintains the hierarchical arrangement of the components. The connection lines are drawn and symbols are placed automatically. You indicate the required structure by locating the child symbol near the underside of its intended parent.
1 Drag the child symbol into position beneath the parent symbol until it comes within the area of potential connection to the parent symbol.
A cross is displayed alongside the dotted line, that indicates where the final connection will be. The following image shows a child entity positioned beneath a parent entity.
This graphic is described in the surrounding text.
2 Drop the child symbol.
