In Gane and Sarson and Yourdon/DeMarco notation, a Process symbol is a rectangular symbol, representing a point in the system where data is manipulated, or processed. Process symbols are usually defined with a minispec, pseudo-code, or structured English. A process can be the parent symbol of a leveled child diagram.
