The UAF Resource States view is a state machine diagram that allows you to model the states of the Resource Architecture and transitions between states, within the context of the UAF domain metamodel.
•State: The state of the architecture corresponds to a Resource Interface, wherein the ResourceArchitecture is in the state of doing something – transitioning Resources between ResourcePerformers.
•Transition: The Resources on a Resource Interface are transitioned by a ResourcePerformer into another state (with different Resources).
One easy way to model this viewpoint is to:
1 Open the Choices dialog (right-click diagram workspace, and then select Choices) – and select-and-drag Resource Interfaces already created in the encyclopedia onto the diagram workspace.
2 Build transitions between the Resource Interfaces (represented as circular state nodes) – the transitions are actually the ResoucePerformers needed in the architecture.
