Representational consistency allows diagrams to automatically be maintained so that they always reflect the model. Represented symbols are automatically defined creating; definitions, explicit relationship, and implicit relationships as the diagram is modified.

The REPRESENTS keyword is used with only symbols. Use it instead of DEFINED (BY) when the symbol is required to be representational consistent with the model.
