Installation requirements
Hardware and software requirements
Before you install the product, verify that your hardware and software meet or exceed the minimum requirements. If your hardware and software do not meet the minimum requirements, you might be unable to install or run the product.
Installation prerequisites
System Architect requires that certain products are already installed on a computer before the actual installation of System Architect can begin.
If one or more prerequisites are not currently installed, the required software is listed in a dialog box, and you can click Install to install it. If the required software cannot be installed, the installation of System Architect cannot proceed.
System Architect and the IBM Rational DOORS Integration add-on also requires that the Microsoft Windows Installer 4.5 Service is installed.
System Architect installs the following products if they are not already installed:
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (also installs 2.0)
Microsoft Visual J# 2.0 Redistributable Package
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility
Microsoft Oracle .NET Data Provider
Microsoft Primary Interoperability Assemblies 2005
If System Architect installs any of the components listed above they will not be uninstalled if you uninstall System Architect: remove them by using the Windows Control Panel.
The following are additional products used or installed:
Microsoft MSI 4.5
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.7 SP1
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package
