Installing System Architect on a Vista computer
The installation process is different if you are installing on a Vista computer. To Install the System Architect on a Vista computer without disabling UAC, follow the procedures in this section.
Prerequisites
Complete the planning and pre-installation tasks: see Planning the installation and Pre-installation tasks.
If you install System Architect or System Architect XT on a standard installation path, on a 64-bit operating system, the products will not work with Oracle databases. This is because the Oracle client does not work if the client tool contains a parenthesis in the installation path. System Architect returns an “Error Opening Catalog” message, and System Architect XT returns an “Unable to Open Catalog” message.
Procedure
1 Copy the install program from the installation media to the Vista computer.
2 Right‑click the System Architect Installer, and then click Run as Administrator.
3 After the installation is complete, run the System Architect from the installed path: right‑click SA2001.exe, and then click Run as Administrator.
