Installing and configuring Internet Information Services (IIS) for Windows operating system
You can install Internet Information Services (IIS) on Windows 10.
You can also install IIS Version 7.0 and 7.5 on Windows 2008 and 2008 R2 and IIS Version 8.0 and 8.5 on Windows 2012 and 2012 R2 by using the server manager interface.
Installing and configuring IIS on Windows 10
1 Go to Control Panel, and under Programs and Features, click Turn Windows features on or off.
2 In the Windows Features dialog that opens, toggle on Internet Information Services, and then click OK. IIS will be installed. When finished, you will be provided with a message that it is complete – click Close to close the dialog.
3 While still in the Windows Features dialog, expand Internet Information Services and turn on the features below:
a Expand the Application Development node, and toggle on/select the components below:
ASP.NET 3.5 ASP.NET 4.8 ASP ISAPI Extensions ISAPI Filters
b Expand the Security node, and toggle on/select the options below:
Basic Authentication Windows Authentication
4 Click OK to close the Windows Features dialog. The changes will be applied. You will be provided with a message when they have finished installing – click Close to close the dialog.
5 After the installation is complete, go to http://localhost in the web browser, and then verify the installed features.
Installing and configuring IIS Version 7.0 and 7.5 on Windows 2008 and 2008 R2 operating system
1 Click Start > All Programs > Administrative Tools > Server manager.
2 In the Server manager window, click Roles.
3 In the Role Summary window, click Add Roles > Next, select Web Server (IIS), and click Add Required Role Services.
4 Click Next until you reach the Select Role Services window. In the Select Role Services window, do this:
•In the Application Development node, select these components: ASP.NET, ASP, ISAPI Extensions and ISAPI Filters, and then click Add Required Role Services.
•In the Security node, select the Basic Authentication and Windows Authentication options, and then click Next.
5 In the Confirm Installation Options window, click Install.
6 After the installation is complete, go to http://localhost in the web browser, and then verify the installed features.
Next
First install the System Architect XT, and then complete the following steps to activate the Basic Authentication or Windows Authentication for the System Architect XT or System Architect XT web service:
1 Start IIS Version 7.0 or 7.5. Click the folder for System Architect XT or System Architect XT web service, and then under IIS, click Authentication.
2 Right-click Basic Authentication or Windows Authentication, and click Enable.
Installing IIS Version 8.0 and 8.5 on Windows 2012 and 2012 R2
1 Click Start > All Programs > Administrative Tools > Server manager.
2 In the Server manager window, click Manage > Add Roles or Features.
3 Click Next until you reach the Server Roles window. Click Web Server (IIS), and then select Add Features.
4 Click Next until you reach the Select Role Services window. In the Select Role Services window, do this:
•In the Application Development node, select ASP.NET 3.5, ASP, ISAPI Extensions and ISAPI Filters, and then click Add Required Role Services.
•In the Security node, select the Basic Authentication and Windows Authentication options, and click Next.
5 In the Confirm Installation Options window, click Install.
6 After the installation is complete, go to http://localhost in the web browser, and then verify the installed features.

First install System Architect XT and complete the following steps to activate the Basic Authentication or Windows Authentication for the System Architect XT or System Architect XT web service:
1 Start IIS Version 8.0, click the folder for System Architect XT or System Architect XT web service, and on the left pane, under the IIS option click Authentication.
2 Right-click Basic Authentication or Windows Authentication, and then click Enable.
