Running System Architect XT on the IIS server
After you make changes to the website, IIS must be reset, or restarted, for the changes to take effect. You must run the IISReset command from a DOS prompt, as follows.
1 Click Start > Run, type cmd in the Open field, and click OK.
2 Type iisreset, and then press Enter.
3 The command above stops and restarts the IIS. When completed, you should receive a confirmation message that Internet Services Successfully Restarted. Close the DOS window.
4 Launch Internet Explorer and enter the following URL:
http://<computername>/saxt
5 If the System Architect XT Login page is displayed, close Internet Explorer. Installation was successful.
6 Create a separate Application pool, called SAXTApplicationPool in IIS 7.0 and IIS 7.5, and then downgrade our application pool on 64 bit OS so that it does not affect any 64 bit website hosted on the same server.
On some servers, you might have to run System Architect XT manually before using the application. On these servers, a registry update might occur when System Architect XT is run for the first time on a clean computer. To ensure System Architect XT starts on the server, navigate to the System Architect installation folder, usually:
C:\Program files\UNICOM Systems\System Architect Suite\System Architect
and then double-click SA2001.exe.
System Architect XT does not present an user interface when started this way. To see if it started successfully, look in the Windows Task Manager for SA2001.exe. To stop the System Architect XT session, select SA2001.exe process, and then click End Process.
