Setting access control with SA Catalog Manager
You can have two types of System Architect encyclopedias:
•Professional – one that has single-user access.
•Enterprise – one that is used by teams on a network.
An Enterprise encyclopedia must have access control set for it by an System Architect administrator. While System Architect can be used with both Professional and Enterprise encyclopedias, System Architect XT can only access Enterprise encyclopedias.
Catalog Manager itself is automatically installed when you install System Architect, unless you select to not install it during the installation process.
When System Architect or System Architect XT is installed, the System Architect administrator normally uses System Architect Catalog Manager to specify access for users to Enterprise encyclopedias.
In short, System Architect Catalog Manager enables you to provide role-based, enterprise-level access control to System Architect encyclopedias. Access control is enforced by a catalog. Encyclopedias to which you want to control access are attached to the catalog. Using Catalog Manager, you create users, assign encyclopedias to them, and then assign users one or more roles that they can perform on catalogued encyclopedias. Catalog Manager also lets you to control menus that are enabled, and the macros that can be executed by a role.
