Linking IBM Rational Team Concert to System Architect resources
The integration between an IBM Rational Team Concert artifact, such as a defect, and System Architect diagram or definition provides traceability and enables impact analysis.
The following procedure describes how to link a defect from IBM Rational Team Concert to a System Architect diagram. Before this process can occur the encyclopedia that contains the artifact to link to must be associated with a project area.
1 In IBM Rational Team Concert select a project.
2 Select a defect from which to create the link.
3 Click the Links tab.
4 Click Add Links and select Elaborated by Architecture Element.
5 In the Elaborated by Architecture Element dialog box, select an existing artifact, or create a new one.
6 In the Select Model Item dialog box, click Select Artifact Type field to select diagrams or definitions.
7 Click Select Type. The options that are available depend on the artifact type you chose.
8 Under the Results section, select an artifact from the list and click OK.
9 Save the changes. A link is added in the artifact you selected.
If you want the Show More link to be displayed in the window when you move the pointer over a link, an administrator must configure a System Architect XT URL as follows:
Open the SARestWebService.exe.config file, which is located in the application folder:
C:\Program Files\UNICOM Systems\System Architect Suite\System Architect
Edit the SAXTurl key and add the System Architect XT URL, as shown in this example:
<add key="SAXTurl" value="http://<MachineName/SAXT/"/>
Save and close the SARestWebService.exe.config file.
Result
You can move the pointer over on the artifact that you linked to and view the properties of the artifact. Click Show More to display the System Architect XT page for the artifact.
