Creating report templates
IBM Rational Publishing Engine Document Studio is used to create report templates. The template is like a blueprint that contains the metamodel and the data source information (REST or XML). The IBM Rational Publishing Engine user should be able to design the template, add content by dragging and dropping objects from the palette, and associate the objects with the queries or values from the data source.
To use the REST service for a live connection to the encyclopedia
1 In the IBM Rational Publishing Engine Document Studio, click File > New, and then click Document Template.
2 In the Data Source Schemas tab, click Add new data source. The Add Data Source Wizard is displayed.
3 Click Next.
4 Click the Schema type field and select REST.
5 In the Schema file field, click Browse and select the data source schema file (XSD) that was created by System Architect for the encyclopedia to which you are connecting (for example, Samples.XSD).
6 Enter a name in the Data source ID field. The ID can be any name, but it should be descriptive (for example Samples Encyclopedia).
7 Click Next.
8 Review the Summary page, and then click Finish.
