Changing diagram grid settings
If you have one or more diagrams saved with one set of grid settings and you want to change them to a new set, take the following steps for each diagram:
1 Open the diagram. It will reflect the grid settings in effect when you last saved it, regardless of any changes made in the current session.
2 Use the Grid & Reduced View dialog box to change the grid settings.
3 Use Edit > Select All to select all the symbols in your diagram.
4 Use Format > Snap Symbol(s) to Grid.
This command reorients all symbols in your diagram to your new grid settings. The symbol grid will constrain the center point of the symbol if enabled. (You could select and move each symbol individually yourself, but using Snap Symbol(s) to Grid is easier.)
5 Save your diagram.
6 Repeat these steps for each diagram you want to match your new grid settings.
If you do not want System Architect to orient your line or rectangular symbols to a grid, you can turn off this feature using the two check boxes. To turn off the grid feature for rectangular symbols, de-select the Symbol Grid area (no X in the box). Click it again to select it.
To turn off the grid feature for line symbols, clear Line Symbol.
