Merging and extracting information between encyclopedias
You can exchange diagrams, symbols, and definitions between encyclopedias using System Architect merge and extract capabilities.
When you select to merge or extract a SQL Server 2005 encyclopedia that has not been converted to use the Optimized XT Reader, a dialog informs you that the encyclopedia must be converted before it can be merged. If you do not convert the encyclopedia, you cannot use it as a source or target for the merge or extract. You must open the encyclopedia with System Architect to convert it. Alternatively, you can use System Architect Encyclopedia Manager (SAEM) to enable the Optimized XT Reader. See the SAEM help for more information.
Pictures
Now that Picture symbols can reference user-selected-image files in the encyclopedia, these must be transferred by this operation. If a diagram is copied then any encyclopedia file employed in a picture symbol is also copied.
Pictures that reference a diagram in the encyclopedia store the Name and type number so will show the first diagram is found by that search.
