NOV-1 High-level Operational Concept
The NOV-1 describes a capability and highlights main operational nodes and any unique aspects of operations. It provides a description of the interactions between the subject architecture and its environment, and between the architecture and external systems.
The NOV-1 View is divided into the following three products:
NOV-1a High-level Operational Concept diagrams
NOV-1b Operational Concept Description
NOV-1c Operational Performance Attributes
NOV-1a High-level Operational Concept diagrams
The NOV-1a High Level Operational Concept Diagram allows you to describe the locations, targets, assets and organizations that are to be involved in a particular mission. Its main utility is as a facilitator of human communication, and it is intended for presentation to high-level decision makers.
NOV-1b Operational Concept Description
Provides a supplementary description of the High Level Operational Concept NOV-1a View.
NOV-1c Operational Performance Attributes
The Operational Performance Attributes definition is used to specify quantifiable attributes and values in the scenario / use case represented in the NOV-1 View. The values expressed define the performance of specific or multiple capability elements, and can be represented as either single values, or a range of values across a defined timescale.
