Creating NOV-6a operational rules model products for NAF 3
The OV-6a Operational Rules Model is created using the IDEF3 Process Flow diagram. IDEF3 is concerned with modeling the processes of a business or its systems. This model captures constraints on the system, including resource and temporal relationships.
The basic building blocks of IDEF3 Process Flow diagram descriptions are: Units of Behavior (Operational Activities), junctions, links, referents, and decompositions.
You generally start with an IDEF3 Scenario diagram, which describes the overall process of a part of the business or a system. The Units of Behavior (operational activities) on this IDEF3 Scenario diagram are then decomposed with other IDEF3 diagrams that show further detail of the process flow.
