Creating a child diagram or attaching a child diagram
On the Home page of System Architect XT, click System Architect XT Explorer.
Open the Business Process or Organization Chart diagram from which you want to create child diagram.
Right-click a symbol (for example, a Process symbol), and then click Create Child Diagram or Attach Child Diagram. The CREATE DIAGRAM window is displayed.
Select a diagram type, and then enter the name in the Diagram Name field.
Click OK. The Address bar shows the diagram’s URL, which includes DDID=NNNN, where N is the number assigned to the diagram you created. For example, the URL can appear as:
http://<computername>/SAXT/diagramming.aspx?DDID=4745
You can now work on your diagram with the same drawing options that are available in System Architect for the diagram type you have created.
In the parent diagram, click Refresh. The symbol that is the parent of the child diagram will now contain a small box, with + (plus sign), to denote that it has child diagram.
To open the child diagram from the parent symbol, right-click on the symbol and select Open Child Diagram. The context menu also lets you Detach Child Diagram.
