Database authentication is being used
System Architect XT first verifies the user login in the catalog before checking for DB authentication. The user Login on the system can be in the format of: Domain Name\User Nameor System Name\User Name. Hence it becomes mandatory that the user login from every machine where System Architect XT is being accessed are present in the catalog.
The encyclopedia name contains a dollar symbol $
Rename the encyclopedia so that it does not contain a dollar symbol.
The incorrect server name or server type was specified
Verify that the correct server name or server type to access the encyclopedia is specified.
Different versions of System Architect and System Architect XT are in use
Log into the SAXT machine as the Impersonation account in the web.config. Launch System Architect Catalog Manager and try to connect to the SQL Server receive the following error:
The catalog on SQL Server ServerName was created using a more recent version than you are using, and cannot be opened. Please refer to your System Administrator, or contact Customer Support.
This indicates that versions of System Architect and System Architect XT on the different machines do not match. The same version of the products must be installed on the machines. Upgrade one machine to the higher version.
The catalog needs to be upgraded
1 Start SA Catalog Manager.
2 Open the catalog. A dialog is displayed with the following text:
CRCSA00064W: The catalog on ServerName (SQL Server) must be upgraded. Upgrading the catalog might update the default catalog content. Do you want to upgrade the catalog?
