Lesson 1.8: Track requirements against use cases
Attach your Business Requirements, (created in the previous lesson), to the Use Case that satisfies it.
Use Cases serve a dual purpose on the requirements level: they help you find or establish your requirements, or if you already have set requirements for your system, you can attach those requirements to your Use Cases so that you know your designed models meet your requirements.
To track requirements against use cases
1 Open the definition of the Use Case Make Reservation.
2 Select the Requirements tab. This tab and the properties in it were added to the Use Case definition through System Architect's extensibility mechanism - USRPROPS.TXT.
3 In Related Requirements, click Choices. The Select and Drag dialog displays all of the business requirements that you entered in the business modeling section of this tutorial.
4 Right click Select and Drag, then select Details.
The requirement Retrieve Credit Information From Consumers is satisfied by this Use Case.
5 In the Select and Drag dialog box, select the requirement Retrieve Credit Information From Consumer. Drag and drop it into the Business Requirements grid. Close the Select and Drag dialog box.
Requirements Traceability
6 Select the requirement Retrieve Credit Information From Consumer and click Define to open the requirement's definition dialog.
7 Notice that in inthe requirement's definition there is a tab for Related Requirements and Process. In inthis tab you can see a list for related Business Objectives.
