Converting encyclopedias to System Architect 10.4 and later
Beginning with System Architect 10.3 new stored procedures and tables (for history) are created and changes are made to existing stored procedures in all encyclopedias.
To upgrade System Architect 10.4 and later encyclopedias to version 11.0, open them in System Architect 11.4.
To upgrade encyclopedias created with versions 10.1, 10.0, or 9, first convert them to version 10.3 format, and then update them to version 11.0. This is a two-stage process:
Note SAEM cannot perform standard functions on an encyclopedia residing on a remote server.
Stage 1: Convert the data of the encyclopedia using SAEM
1 Run System Architect Encyclopedia Manager (SAEM) and select Start, Programs, Telelogic, Telelogic Lifecycle Solutions Tools, System Architect, SAEM (SQL Server).
2 In SAEM, log in to the server containing the encyclopedia you want to upgrade (select Server, Connect).
3 Choose the encyclopedia you want to upgrade (select Database, Select Database).
4 In SAEM, select Tools, Convert to 10.3.
Stage 2: Open the converted encyclopedia
A system administrator or the owner of the encyclopedia must open the converted encyclopedia in System Architect 10.3 or later:
1 Find out whether the owner of an encyclopedia is using SAEM (for MSDE) or Microsoft Enterprise Manager (for SQL Server). Have that person or a person with a system administrator role, open the converted encyclopedia in System Architect 10.3 or later.
2 System Architect tries to add new stored procedures and tables to the existing encyclopedia when it is initially opened with System Architect 10.3 or later. As long as a person with a system administrator role or the owner of the encyclopedia opens converted encyclopedia, the stored procedures are properly created with an owner of dbo.
