Resizing a collection symbol
You have a number of options for resizing a collection symbol:
Drag a handle of the Collection symbol. As you resize the Collection, the contents of the Collection will be resized proportionately as well.
Press Shift while dragging a handle. This will cause only the Collection to resize: the contents of the Collection are untouched.
Drag one of the corner handles to maintain the aspect ratio of the Collection and each of its contained symbols. Similarly, the font size used for the symbols is proportionately adjusted. If you grab one of the left, top, right or bottom handles, the aspect ratio of the Collection and each of its contained symbols cannot be maintained.
You can not from resize a Collection such that any of its contents will shrink to less than the permitted minimum size.
Note Make sure the pointer is shaped like a pointer and not like a pencil before you try to select any symbol. Either press Esc, select the pointer shape from the Toolbox, or click Select Mode in the Draw Menu to return the pointer to a pointer shape.
Collection ownership
If a symbol has been added to a Collection, it is considered to be owned by that Collection even if it appears in another Collection. When the owning Collection symbol is moved or resized, the symbols in it are also moved or resized. The symbol in the other Collection stays the same size. Another way of looking at this is that if two or more Collections embed a symbol, only when the owning Collection is moved will the symbol be moved with it. Other Collection movement, even if apparently including that symbol will not result in that symbol’s being moved.
If the Collection has been moved or resized to the point where the symbols are no longer contained in it, or if the symbol is moved out of the Collection, that symbol is no longer a part of that collection. The symbol is considered to be available. Another Collection can be moved or resized to contain it or the symbol can be moved into another Collection.
If a symbol is moved into an area enclosed by two or more Collections, the "owning" Collection is arbitrarily assigned.
