You can build Business Process diagrams that model as-is or to-be processes in your organization, and their accompanying systems, so that you can study the behavior of the processes and systems under specific conditions, and as time progresses. In this way you can understand what the effects of change will be without having to actually deploy the processes or accompanying systems.
