Modifying the look of a symbol
The Symbol Style toolbar offers tools for customizing symbols. Here is an example of this toolbar:

Use the tools on the left-hand side of this toolbar to set:
the font style for…
All Text, Name, Graphic Comment, or Other Text,
the named style (Heat Map Legend Header in the example),
the font style (Arial in the example), and so on.
On the far right of the toolbar are tools to set:
the fill,
the line type.
To the left of the fill and ‘line type’ tools, text direction tools also appear when applicable.
Selection of a symbol results in the style bar updating to show the selections that have been made for that symbol, with the exception of the tools for selecting color and pen styles, which facilitates setting and then applying those settings to other symbols.
Further tools are included in this toolbar for the following actions:

Set default style for the selected symbol type.
Apply default style to the selected symbols.
Set current style from the selected symbol – this is equivalent to Symbol Format > Copy and Apply Styles > Copy Styles.
Apply current style to the selected symbols – this and the following tools work with the copied style:
Apply current width to the selected symbols.
Apply current height to the selected symbols.
Apply current size to the selected symbols.
Apply current fill color to the selected symbols.
Apply current pen style to the selected symbols.
Apply current line style to the selected symbols.
Apply current font to the selected symbols.
Apply current depiction style to the selected symbols.
