You can enable capabilities in the product that simplify the drawing of DoDAF 2 subtypes, update DoDAF 2 icons with symbols consistent with IBM Rational products, and improve the appearance of DoDAF 2 reports by using the NAMEONLY keyword at the report or property levels.
The three modeling capabilities in the procedure below are enabled using a keyword and value in the command line.
Syntax
-dodaf2plus [1|2|3]
Parameters
1: NAMEONLY keyword is enabled for reports
2: Subtype drawing tools and DoDAF 2 icons are enabled
3: NAMEONLY keyword, subtype drawing tools, and DoDAF 2 icons are enabled.
Procedure
1 Open a command line.
2 To enable only the use of the NAMEONLY keyword for definitions and properties, type -dodafplus [1], then press ENTER.
3 To enable only enhanced icons for DoDAF 2.0 and element subtype drawing tools in the toolbar, do this:
▪Navigate to the root installation directory for System Architect and rename ExplorerIconBitmaps.zip file, which is the old icon file.
For example, at C:\Program Files\UNICOM Systems\System Architect Suite\System Architect, rename the ExplorerIconBitmaps.zip file to ExplorerIconBitmaps_OLD.zip file.
▪Rename the DM2_ExplorerIconBitmaps.zip file to ExplorerIconBitmaps.zip file.
▪When you create a new encyclopedia, the new .zip file is used.
▪To upgrade an existing encyclopedia, use the encyclopedia file manager to install the new .zip file to the root workspace.
▪To enable the new icons for the diagram toolbar, in the command line, type -dodafplus [2]; then press ENTER.
4 To enable all of the new DoDAF 2 capabilities, which includes the use of the NAMEONLY keyword, DoDAF 2 icons, and element subtype drawing tools in the toolbar, perform the following steps:
▪Navigate to the root installation directory for System Architect and rename ExplorerIconBitmaps.zip file, which is the old icon file.
For example, at C:\Program Files\UNICOM Systems\System Architect Suite\System Architect, rename ExplorerIconBitmaps.zip file to ExplorerIconBitmaps_OLD.zip file.
▪Rename DM2_ExplorerIconBitmaps.zip file to ExplorerIconBitmaps.zip file.

5 Close the command line.
6 If you have enabled DoDAF 2 subtype drawing tools, to simplify the drawing of symbols, click Tools > Preferences > Allow in-place name edit for new symbols. When In Place Name Edit is enabled, you can edit the name of each new symbol in the symbol itself.
