You can use two types of diagram to support the OV-2 viewpoint: the Operational Resource Flow Description diagram and the Operational Resource Flow Alternative diagram.

The primary purpose of the OV-02 Viewpoint is to define capability requirements in an operational context. The secondary purpose of the OV-02 Viewpoint is to define a logical network, or pattern, of resource flows (where a resource flow can be information), or (new to DoDAF 2.0) flows of funding, personnel, or materiel. This logical pattern need not correspond to specific organizations, systems, or locations, allowing Resource Flows to be established without prescribing the way that the Resource Flows are handled and without prescribing solutions.
