OV-4 organizational chart artifacts
The Organization Relationships chart is a hierarchy diagram, which describes the relationships between organizations or resources.
These relationships can include command and control, coordination relationships (which influence what connectivity is needed), and many others, depending on the purpose of the architecture. These relationships are important to show in an operational view of architecture because they illustrate essential roles and management relationships.
Organizational units are used along with OV-4 connection lines.
Organizational Units provide crucial information regarding what type of military service will be used and what the purpose of the mission may be.
To reuse an organizational unit previously defined in an OV-1 diagram, right‑click the diagram workspace, and then click an option on the popup menu. The Organizational Units are also known as an Owning Organization in an OV-2 diagram.
OV-4 Connection Lines enable you to assign a connection type to the connection definition. The following types apply: Situation Dependent, Coordination, and Backup.
