You can freely draw Operational Activity symbols and ICOM arrows on OV-5 diagrams, or invoke the automatic geometry drawing mode. When this mode is turned on for an OV-5 diagram, the software controls the placement of Operational Activity symbols and ICOM arrows with predefined positioning.
