Creating SV-10 system activity sequence and timing descriptions for DoDAF
Three types of models are needed to refine and extend the systems view of an architecture to adequately describe its dynamic behavior and performance characteristics.
The following three models are used to refine the descriptions:
Systems Rules Model (SV-10a)
Systems State Transition Description (SV-10b)
Systems Event/Trace Description (SV-10c)
You can use the Systems State Transition Description and Systems Event/Trace Description separately or together to depict the timing and sequencing behavior in the systems architecture view. Both of these diagrams describe system responses to sequences of events. When an event occurs, the action to take might be subject to a rule or set of rules as described in the Systems Rule Model.
