SV-1 systems interface diagram symbols
You create the systems interface diagram to describe the assignments of systems and their interfaces to the nodes and needlines described in the OV-2 operational node connectivity diagram, thereby linking the operational and systems architecture views.
The following symbols are used to develop the systems interface diagram:
System Node Interface
Allows data to be passed only between System Nodes.
System Node
Describes the operation or role and allocation of resources to perform a particular role/operation.
System Interface
Allows data information to be exchanged only between System Entities.
System Entity
Describes the system functions that need to be preformed.
System Element Interface
Allows data to be passed only between System Elements.
System Component Interface
Allows data to be passed only between System Components.
Communications Node
Control the transfer and movement of information.
Communications Connection
The connection may describe the nature of the communication path, for example the kind of channel or network.
