System Reference Model and other EA definition properties
To create and view a System definition:
1 In the Encyclopedia Explorer, right mouse click Definitions, and select New.
The Select new type for All methods dialog opens.
2 Click the first definition (Account), and press the S key on your keyboard.
3 Select System, and click Ok.
4 Name the Dictionary Object Sample System, and click Ok.
5 Select and view each tab shown below.
Introduction
Shows the System’s description.
Investment
Shows the Investment that funds the System.
Ownership
Shows the Organization that owns the System. This data is entered through the Organization owns System matrix.
Decomposition, Page 1
Describes the sub-systems, if any, that the System is composed of. If the System is due to be replaced in the future by another System, this can also be captured.
Decomposition, Page 2
Describes the Technical Components that the System uses. This data is entered through the System employs Technical Components matrix.
Applications
Lists the applications that the system hosts (if any).
BRM
Lists the non-primary BRM Sub-Functions that the System supports (the Primary BRM Sub-Function is entered in the corresponding Investment definition. This data is entered through the System supports BRM Sub-Function matrix.
SRM
Lists the SRM Service Components that the System is capable of delivering. This data is entered through the System is capable of delivering SRM Service Components matrix.
TRM
Lists the TRM Service Components that the System is capable of delivering. This data is entered through the System implements TRM Service Specifications matrix.
PRM
Lists the Operational Measurement Indicators (OMIs) that the System is measured by.
