Relating Business Goals to Business Objectives by using a matrix
You can create one or more Business Goals to support the Vision of the organization. Business Goal is a definition type. Then, you can relate business goals to business objectives using a matrix.
You can also relate Business Goals to the Business Objectives that implement them through a matrix that is available if you turn on the TOGAF feature.
1 Turn on TOGAF Enterprise: Select Tools, Customize Method Support, Encyclopedia Configuration. In the System Architect Property Configuration dialog, select TOGAF Enterprise. Then reopen the encyclopedia
2 Select View > Matrix Browser.
3 Select the TOGAF tab.
4 Double-click the Business Goals to Objectives matrix.
5 Click an X in appropriate intersecting cells to relate Business Goals to the Business Objectives that amplify them. Click OK to save the matrix.
6 In the Business Goal definition, select the Related Items tab to view the Business Objectives associated with a particular Business Goal. Likewise, in each Business Objective, you can select its Related Items tab to view the Business Goals that it amplifies. It is a many-to-many relationship.
