Process Threads in Process Charts
A Process Thread contains one or more Process Charts.
You specify the Process Thread that a Process Chart represents in the Diagram Properties of the Process Chart (select Edit, Diagram or right-mouse-click on the drawing space and select Diagram Properties). Once a Process Chart is associated with a Process Thread, all of the events, elementary business processes, and results drawn on the diagram represent the Process Thread. If you have not specified a Process Thread for a Process Chart, System Architect automatically enters a Process Thread name (by default, the same name as the Process Chart) in the diagram's properties upon diagram save.
A Process Chart begins with an Event and ends with a Result. The Result of a Process Chart can trigger:
a process within the same process thread,
a process in a different process thread, or
its own process to start over again.
This activity is captured in an Event Result Matrix.
