An organizational entity is a symbol in a process hierarchy diagram.

The definitions for an Organizational Entity and for an Organizational Unit both refer to people within the organization. However, they vary in scope. An Organizational Entity is a single symbol within a process hierarchy diagram and defines a single role. An Organizational Unit organizes a group of symbols within a Process Map diagram and can store many roles within it. Each role stored within an Organizational Unit is at the same level of detail as an Organizational Entity.
