Process decomposition diagrams in Business Process Modeling
The process decomposition diagram enables you to create a hierarchy of Process Threads and the Elementary Business Processes that belong to them. You can create this hierarchy manually or automatically based on information already in the project encyclopedia in Process Chart diagrams and the matrix editor.

Primary process groups
A primary process group is a set of closely related Activities responding to one or more related Events and producing one or more related Results. A primary process group can be contained within a single functional area, but it is more likely to cross functional areas. Primary Process Groups for a particular enterprise might include Product Development, Order Acquisition, Billing, Distribution, and Material Acquisition.
