Defining IDEF3 OSTN diagram properties
An Object State Transition Network (OSTN) diagram is used to model the behavior of an object as it transitions from state to state, based on events. You can specify what object the OSTN diagram shows behavior for, in the OSTN diagram properties.
Right-click an empty part of the diagram workspace, and then click Diagram Properties.
Information specified in the diagram properties matches information filled in within the work product forms (or kits) specified by the IDEF3 spec, a typical one of which is shown below.
OSTN Description
Scenario
You can specify the OSTN scenarios that the diagram represents.
Object
You can specify the object that the diagram represents.

Diagram Status
Specify the status of the diagram:
Working: The diagram can be of working status if it is new, or if it is a major change, regardless of the previous status.
Draft: The diagram is a minor change from the previous one and has reached some agreed-upon level of acceptance by a set of readers. Draft diagrams are those proposed by a project leader, but not yet accepted by the project team.
Recommended: Both this diagram and its supporting text have been reviewed and approved by the project team. This diagram is not expected to change.
Released: This diagram can be forwarded as is for final release or publication.
