Creating IDEF0 models independently for NAF 1.0
You can create the IDEF0 model definition independently, and then specify it when you create the OV-5 Context diagram.
Prerequisite
Ensure that the IDEF0 diagram and definition set has been enabled for the encyclopedia. Click Tools, Customize Method Support, Encyclopedia Configuration to open the System Architect Property Configuration window and verify that IDEF0 and IDEF3 is selected.
When you create an OV-5 Activity Model diagram and specify it as being a Context diagram, you must also specify the IDEF0 model that the diagram represents. When you create an OV-5 Activity Model diagram and do not specify it as being a Context diagram (in other words, you might be creating a Constraint diagram), you do not have to specify an IDEF0 model that it belongs to.
As an alternative to creating models independently, you can create the model definition as you create an OV-5 Context diagram.
To create the IDEF0 model independently
1 Click Dictionary > New Definition.
2 In the Definitions list, double-click IDEF0 Model.
3 Specify a model name; then click OK.
