1 Press Ctrl and the left mouse button at the same time. The letter S will appear, surrounded by a dotted rectangle.

2 Keeping both the left mouse button and Ctrl pressed, sweep the S symbol over the processes which you want to select. A dotted rectangle will surround the processes. (Only those completely inside the dotted rectangle will be selected.)

3 Release Ctrl and the left mouse button. Handles will surround the processes which you have selected.
