By default, when you draw ‘node’ symbols in System Architect, they are represented in their ‘conventional’ style – a rectangle, circle, or oblong depending on the symbol type. You can right-mouse click on any symbol and choose to:
▪Display with Alternate Depiction
▪Display with Alternate Depiction (without resizing)
▪Display with Adornment
▪Display with Adornment (without resizing)
▪Display Conventionally
▪Display Conventionally (without resizing)
Note By default, System Architect turns on the node shadows mode on any diagram you create. When displaying a symbol with Alternate Depiction, it may look distorted because it is being shadowed (see below). To turn off symbol node shadows:
1 Select Format > Diagram Format > Display Options to open the Display Options dialog.
2 In the Display Options dialog, toggle off Shadow > Node Symbols.
Above, a diagram with Security Constraint symbol shown as Alternate Depiction, with diagram Node Shadows turned off, and below – the same symbols with Node Shadows turned on for the diagram.
Below is the same diagram with the Security Constraint symbols set to display with Adornment.
