Important to an architecture are the Projects that are on going to increase the capabilities of the organization, into the future, and the systems (or resources) that they field or change at different milestones of a project.
Many organizations have many on-going projects, some of which may be fielding similar capabilities with different systems. Project portfolio management is an important aspect of enterprise architecture.
