Administrative privileges and domain accounts for installing System Architect XT
The person who installs System Architect XT must have administrative privileges on the computer on which the software is installed. Although much of the System Architect XT installation is automated, the installation requires the following privileges and permissions:
Administrative privileges on the Microsoft SQL Server where encyclopedias are created. This privilege is required for the System Architect Catalog Manager to create users, grant them access to encyclopedias, and assign them roles on those encyclopedias.
You can also use an existing domain account, if it has the required permissions. System Architect XT uses the credentials of the domain account and connects to servers (via Windows Integrated authentication) where the catalogs and encyclopedias are stored. The domain account is also known as the impersonation account. The System Architect XT application impersonates the domain account.
Note The System Architect XT web service can also use the same domain account that System Architect XT uses, or a different domain account. Either way, the domain account for the System Architect XT web service has the same requirements that are listed for System Architect XT.
