You must specify an output file if you are generating an HTML-type report, or if you are generating a text-type report and have the Raw Data option toggled on.
HTML-type report
You must specify an output file if you have selected to generate an HTML-type report. The html file report is generated to the output file selected.
Also, if you have additionally toggled on the Raw Data option for the HTML-type report, raw HTML data (not formatted by a selected XSL stylesheet) will be generated to the output directory specified, with the name of the output file you have specified appended with an ‘_data’ (for example, if you generate an HTML report to ..\temp\output.htm, the raw data will be output to ..\temp\output_data.htm).
Text-type report
If you select the Raw Data option for a text-type report, you must specify an Output File for the text file of raw data generated. Three files will be generated: output_file_name_DATA.DBF, output_file_name_DATA.DBT, and output_file_name_DATA.NDX.
