1 Go to System Architect XT website (for example, http://<computername>/SAXT), as determined by your System Administrator or Administrator of System Architect XT. Enter values in the numbered fields. Each step determines the options that are available in the subsequent step.
2 If enabled, select the Server Type. (The server type selection can be hidden by changing Web.Config option '<add key="DisplayServerTypeSelection" value="N" />'. When hidden, the default selection is SQL.)
3 In the Server Name field, type the server name and press Enter.
Each server that you connect to successfully is added to the list of servers, and you can click the drop-down to select them on subsequent logins.
4 Select an encyclopedia from the Encyclopedia Name field. System Architect XT checks whether the encyclopedia you select contains a workspace.
▪If it contains a workspace, you can select a workspace from the Workspace Name field. Baselined workspaces are read-only, and you can only login to them in Reader mode.
▪If it does not contain a workspace, you are guided to select the login mode.
5 Select the login mode:
Reader: Grants you read-only access to repository information, and lets you create queries and run reports.
Updater: Grants you read and update access to repository information. You can add definitions, edit existing definitions, and build report queries. This option is only enabled if you have permission to update the encyclopedia, as determined by an Administrator using System Architect Catalog Manager.
6 Optionally, click Remember Selection for System Architect XT to remember the options you selected the next time you login.
7 Click Login.
This takes you to the Home page of System Architect XT.
