If you login to System Architect XT with the Reader role, you view read-only instances of diagrams you select. With the Updater role, you can view read-only instances of all diagrams as well, but you can also create and edit Business Process and Organization Chart diagrams.
To open a diagram
1 Click System Architect XT Explorer on the Home page of System Architect XT.
2 Click the Diagrams node expand it.
3 Locate the diagram you want to open. and click its name to open it. You can open the diagram in either of the following ways:
▪Click the diagram. A report window opens, displaying an SVG version of the diagram. If you chose a Business Process or an Organizational Chart diagram, you can edit it by clicking Edit to open the Diagramming page.
▪Select the checkbox in front of the Diagram name, then click the Edit toolbar button.
Note On Entity Relation diagrams, Entity symbols display Attributes in Reader mode, but not in Updater mode. This is because the Reader mode can use a stored SVG diagram image that contains the Attributes. A requirement to show the Attributes in Reader mode is that the Entity Relation diagram had the “Fully attributed” display mode option enabled when it was last saved in System Architect.
